Got a chance to take a couple of high-ISO shots from the new Canon EOS 7D for you guys to peek at. These are full-res JPEG samples, unedited and uncorrected, pardon the poorly taken photographs, I only had a few seconds to play with it.

All images are in sRGB color space, Right Click >> Save as on the thumbnails to obtain the large files. Images shot with EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6, Large JPEG, Av Priority. Low light, interior shot with halogen lit room.

It was a very dim office, and as mentioned in the first paragraph, pardon the poor quality of the shots. Frankly, most people are looking at noise patterns at 1600 and above, not 400-800 anyway. Cheers

Adjust your white balance and work on your exposures. Don't use Aperture priority. It's all manual or nothing at all.
